El Santo de Pizarra: a nice walk near Málaga

Want to get some fresh air in the hills while in Málaga for a few days? This nice walk is ideal for a day or a half-day out. It consists of a 10-kilometer loop in the hills above the village of Pizarra.

Pizarra is served by the Málaga’s Cercanías suburban trains operated by RENFE. From the city center (e.g. from the central station, Málaga Centro - Alameda) take line C2 direction Álora. The journey is 30-35 minutes, but trains are not so frequent. Expect 1 or 2 hours between trains, so check the schedule and plan ahead. The fare is 1,95 euro one way.
